The best restaurants are to be found in Sauzon, which is about 15 minutes by car from our house. The Roz Avel and the Cafe de la Cale are our favourites. The restaurant in the Citadel Vauban is very good, but very smart. There is a rather pretentious restaurant in Le Grand Large Hotel and also at the Manoir de Castel Clara. Other restaurants come and go in le Palais and elsewhere and are always worth a visit. Local lamb and, of course fish, are very good on the island.
